July’s Life Skill Theme is Creativity!
At DK Fitness Arts, we believe creativity is much more than art projects and imagination. Creativity is the ability to think differently, solve problems, adapt to challenges, and discover new possibilities. As martial artists, students use creativity every day when developing sparring strategies, learning new techniques, overcoming obstacles, and finding ways to improve themselves. Creativity helps students become confident thinkers, problem-solvers, and future leaders.
Throughout July, we’ll be discussing creativity in class and encouraging students to explore new ideas both inside and outside the dojang.
Create Your Own Taekwondo Form
This month, we’re challenging students to become martial arts creators by designing their very own Taekwondo form! Instead of learning a form created by someone else, students will use their imagination, creativity, and Taekwondo knowledge to create a unique sequence of movements and even give their form a name.
Your Form Must Include:
✅ Begin in Joonbi (Ready Stance)
✅ End in Joonbi (Ready Stance)
✅ At least 1 Block
✅ At least 1 Hand Technique
✅ At least 1 Kick
✅ At least 2 Different Taekwondo Stances
Technique Requirements:
Tiger Tots & Mighty Kickers: 4–8 techniques
Beginner Standard Belts: 10–18 techniques
Intermediate & Advanced Students: 18–25 techniques
How to Submit:
Option 1: Perform It
Demonstrate your form before or after class and an instructor can record it.
Option 2: Record It
Upload a video of your form through our Creativity Challenge Submission Folder.
Be sure to include:
• Student Name
• Belt Rank
• Form Name
• A short description of your form
