Students in our traditional Taekwondo regimen develop the whole mind, body and soul while mastering the latest techniques in self-defense. We designed the program to build confidence through initiative as well as strength. Our Taekwondo program, or DKTKD, has been carefully crafted to inspire students of all ages, from preschool to adult. Through specialty programs, DKTKD offers each aspiring black belt the flexibility to nourish their martial arts training through the focus that most appeals to them, such as sparring, forms, weapons, or demonstrations.
We’re proud to have a holistic program that not only improves physical wellness and strength but introduces you to lifestyle and skill set, building both confidence and self-defense. In the younger and beginner classes, we develop fundamental skills such as balance and coordination while introducing the defining tenets of taekwondo: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit.
As you develop, we begin challenging your mind and physical ability. The choreographed movements of Taeguk forms are introduced along with new combinations of strikes and kicks. Through this program, you begin amassing the tools necessary for full-contact sparring: the true test of self-defense.
As an intermediate-level student, your skills are put to the test within sparring, which also grows the understanding of each skill’s purpose and proper application. These skills and tenets are further developed as you rise through the belt levels, until you reach the prestigious Black Belt. Then the fun and learning truly begin.
